Fighill: visual design progress tool for Figma users

Fighill is a Figma widget that adapts the concept of Basecamp’s Hill Charts for visualizing project progress within the design workflow. Rather than relying solely on to-do lists or status checkboxes, Fighill introduces a more nuanced way to reflect where your tasks stand—whether you’re still “Figuring Things Out” or confidently “Making It Happen.” It’s designed to recognize that creative progress is often non-linear, with sudden insights and problem-solving reshaping direction at any moment. This makes it ideal for designers and teams who value transparency and self-assessment throughout complex or ambiguous stages of work.

The widget works well across various stages of the design process, from establishing design systems to iterating wireframes and refining deliverables. By visualizing progress on a curve, it enables better communication, clearer alignment across team members, and more thoughtful planning discussions. Fighill is especially useful in team environments or for design leaders needing to convey momentum and task clarity without oversimplifying the reality of design work. It was created by Marvin Messenzehl and is available for both Figma and FigJam users.
