Recursive Sans & Mono – A typographic palette for vibrant code & UI

Recursive is a versatile variable font with 5 axes of variation: Monospace, Casual, Weight, Slant, and Cursive. This allows it to be used for various purposes, from coding to UI design. It comes in Sans and Mono subfamilies that can be used together in one file.

The Monospace axis adjusts between proportional and fixed-width styles. The Casual axis ranges from a linear to a casual rounded style. Seven predefined weights, from Light to ExtraBlack, are available. Slant and Cursive are separate axes that can be used together or independently.

The font supports over 200 languages and has currency/symbol glyphs. It aims to be powerful yet simple to use, with 64 predefined “named instances.” The characters maintain consistent widths across all axes, enabling animated transitions.

Recursive is designed for maximum versatility. It can be used for text, UIs, coding, and more. This variable font offers unprecedented flexibility and control from a single file.
