Onest font made its debut in late 2021. Created by designers in Moldova, it aims to promote clear communication in both the Latin and Cyrillic scripts used locally. Onest comes in 9 styles from thin to black, with 529 characters to cover Latin, Cyrillic, numbers and symbols.
As a “living typeface”, Onest conveys extra meaning through variations in lettering. It comes with alternative symbols that provide personality to messages. Onest works hard to be inclusive too, with support for multiple languages spoken in Moldova like Romanian and Russian.
So in summary, Onest brings a homegrown option to Moldova that aims to foster clear communication through thoughtful typography. It seems to be off to a great start and will only get better with time.
